Creating Change 2013!
The National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change is coming to Atlanta! Yes, from January 23-27, 2013 at the Hilton Atlanta Hotel in Downtown Atlanta, thousands of LGBT and allied people will convene to build the grassroots power of our movement for freedom, justice and equality.
What is Creating Change?
- Hosted by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the 25th National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change gathers the nation’s leaders, both LGBT and allies, in the LGBT movement.
- The largest event of its kind, the annual conference brings together people from all levels of the movement to create change and build the political power of our LGBT communities.
- More than 3000 participants will join nationally recognized speakers and leaders who represent a broad cross section of movement: rural, suburban, and urban; allies; young and old; people of diverse races, ethnicities, and faiths; and YOU.
- You can find more information about the Creating Change Conference here.
How can I support this fantastic event coming to Atlanta?
- Join the Host Committee! The Atlanta LGBT community will support many aspects of the 2013 Creating Change Conference through the work, energy and good spirit of the Atlanta Host Committee. Join this dedicated and fun group of volunteer organizers who will throw out a rainbow carpet of welcome to Creating Change attendees and get the word out about the Creating Change Conference. All working members of the Host Committee receive no-cost registrations in honor of their commitment to Creating Change. - Volunteer on-site! In order for the Creating Change Conference to be a success, we depend on volunteers like YOU who agree to work on-site at the conference. From helping people check-in to assisting attendees find the best places in Atlanta to visit, we depend on on-site volunteers to make the Creating Change Conference the best it can be. In exchange for a four-hour work shift at the conference, volunteers are invited and encouraged to attend at no cost the remainder of that day’s conference program. To learn more about how to volunteer and to sign up,click here.
- Host an out-of-town guest! Many folks attending the Creating Change Conference cannot afford to stay at the conference hotel. No cost community housing hosted by generous local community members makes their participation possible and affordable. Please consider opening your home to an out-of-town guest over the conference dates. To learn more and to sign up to host a guest, click here.
- Donate! The Atlanta Host Committee seeks contributions from LGBT people to support the Host Committee’s important goal of supporting low-income folks attending Creating Change. We do this by organizing hospitality suites serving specific groups of attendees: youth, elders, people of color, transgender people, disabled people, and bisexual people. The hospitality suites provide no-cost food and beverages and informal social spaces. To learn more about donating, please contact [email protected].
Thank you!
Please pass this along to your friends, family, colleagues, and anyone else you think might be interested in Creating Change!
Let’s make Creating Change 2013 in Atlanta the best yet!
