Testimonial
B.D., June 3, 2012, Decatur, GAI started out about 5 years ago with what seemed a "problem" and have discovered a whole new world of friendships, love and compassion in a world that sometimes seems less than kind about people with "differences". PFLAG has provided me with friends, advocates, and a real purpose. The rewards I have reaped have made me appreciate my child even more for opening up my life to a whole new dimension. Sitting in PFLAG meetings can be difficult in that parents have to tackle issues they may not be familiar with. Or GLBT people share their experiences with parents or loved ones who do not yet understand. But watching the journey and the love shown in the support groups is truly a blessing for all of us. My life has definitely changed for the better since discovering PFLAG and the wonderful people who participate. The goals of PFLAG-support, advocacy, and education- definitely changes lives and offers hope for a better future for all people, even if it's one person at a time.- lgbt news(70) | for LGBT persons(68) | for parents of LGBT(66) | advice for parents of gay children(53) | youth(36) | gay teens(29) | gay parenting tips(27) | tips for dealing with a gay child(24) | growing up gay in a small town(19) | religion(18) | parenting a gay child(18) | gay parenting(17) | straight allies(16) | gay school advice(15) | coming out(15) | having a transgender child(13) | past programs(13) | gay in high school(13) | parents of gay children(13) | parenting a transgender child(12) | tips on being gay in school(10) | transgender child(10) | trans(10) | pflag literature(10) | gay bullying(9) | gay marriage support(6) | gay pride(6) | bullying(6) | transgender kids(5) | gays and religion(5) | growing up gay in rural community(5) | being gay in college(5) | health benefits of coming out(4) | coming out to parents(4) | christian(4)
