Our theme this year is “Welcome Home” .
If this is your first Atlanta Pride festival, nothing you have experienced so far can quite prepare you for the amazing experience that is Pride weekend. Atlanta and all of Georgia and the Southeast comes together to show our love and support for our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning friends and family. We are proud of how far we’ve come but mindful, also, of how far we yet have to go for full equality and acceptance of our LGBTQ dads, moms, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters. If you’ve ever been puzzled about why it’s called ‘Pride’, you need to be there in person to witness the thousands strong crowd cheer deafeningly for our PFLAG contingent as it marches down Peachtree and 10th Street. People run onto the street to tearfully hug our parents and thank us for the work PFLAG does for the community.
