Sunday Mar 15th: Kelly Quindlen, author of ‘Her Name in the Sky’ is our featured speaker
Kelly Quindlen, lesbian and author of young adult lesbian novel ‘Her Name in the Sky‘ is our featured speaker for this meeting.
Kelly Quindlen is an independent writer and filmmaker who lives in Atlanta. She is an alumna of Vanderbilt University, where she studied English Literature and American Studies, and Teach for America, the national teacher corps. She published Her Name in the Sky, a young adult LGBT novel, in January 2014. In addition to writing young adult fiction, Kelly also collaborates on independent film projects with her sister Kim. Kelly will speak about her coming out journey, the impact of her Catholic upbringing on this process and how her writing has helped facilitate conversations with so many people.
You are welcome to join us and we encourage you to attend if you are a parent, LGBT person or a straight ally. Our speaker will be followed by refreshments and an hour of facilitated support groups. In support groups, we share our stories but do not counsel. Everything that is said within the group remains confidential.

Please park in the Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta (SLCA) parking lot and come towards the back of the building. Entrance is from the left hand side of the building, towards the back. Look for the PFLAG sign.

- Take I-85S to Clairmont Exit 91. Take the exit and cross over Clairmont Rd.
- Bear right on fork to stay on Access Road/Expressway.
- You will pass REI. Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta will be on right. (Look for blue sign. If you pass Floor Décor you have gone too far.)
From Downtown Atlanta/85S/75S
- Take 85N to Clairmont Exit 91. Stay in the leftmost lane and do a U-turn under the highway.
- Bear right on fork to stay on Access Road/Expressway.
- You will pass REI. Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta will be on right. (Look for blue sign. If you pass Floor Decor you have gone too far.)
