For parents of transgender children, educating yourself about what your child is going through and making day to day decisions about parenting can seem a real challenge. Every time one question is answered, another one comes up. Issues of safety and health are also on your mind.

As part of PFLAG Atlanta’s continuing focus on supporting our transgender children, we present a panel of three parents of transgender children who have experienced the transitioning experience with their children at different stages of life: a 5 year old, an 11 year old and a 20 something.

Please join us as we listen to their fascinating story and journey to acceptance. After their comments, the parents panel will take questions. All are invited and the event is free to attend.

We meet on the third Sunday of every month at Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta. Parents and family who are struggling with the news of a loved one coming out as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) are encouraged to attend our support group meetings. If you are lesbian, gay, bi or transgender yourself and would like to come out to your friends and family, this is an excellent place to get support and ideas that have worked for others. After our featured program, we have an hour of facilitated support groups. In support groups, we share our stories but do not counsel. Trained facilitators moderate the discussion. Everything that is said within the group remains confidential.

Please park in the Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta (SLCA) parking lot and come towards the back of the building. Entrance is from the left hand side of the building, towards the back.
